Overcoming barriers to 21st Century learning
On the 22nd of February, we launched the #aREALchallenge campaign.
Over the next week, we will be crowdsourcing challenges that teachers in the UK face when pursuing rigorous, engaging, authentic learning that is enquiry-based and focused on 21st century learning. We want to hear about challenges that are:
- systemic (e.g. the pressures of high stakes testing),
- structural (e.g. having enough time to plan enquiries), and
- practical (e.g. how to track progress or differentiate for students).
From this crowdsourcing, our expert group of 21st century learning pioneers will look to design a pamphlet of personalised solutions to YOUR challenges, and equip the next cadre of REAL teachers with what they need to deliver 21st century learning for their students.
If you’d like to contribute from here, please click here, and share #aREALchallenge in the google spreadsheet.
Some provocations to get the juices flowing:
What are the barriers to teachers making learning inspiring?
What are the barriers to giving students ownership in their classrooms?
What are the barriers to reorienting learning outcomes for the 21st century?
What are the barriers to nurturing classroom of life-long learners?
What are the barriers to unleashing 21st century learners?
What are the barriers that stop teachers from being leaders of change?
What are the barriers to normalising innovation and risk in learning?
